Simple Breathwork To Release Tiredness and Boost your Productivity
Nov 27, 2024Breathwork is the FASTEST most EFFICIENT way to INSTANTLY calm the nervous system. Release tiredness and increase energy and clarity of mind.
However, the kind of breathwork you do matters.
You see, when you're already stressed and anxious , running on high cortisol levels, doing breathwork that causes hyperventilation like the Wim Hoff method or Kundalini breath of fire actually creates more stress and anxiety. So too, will any breathwork that asks you to hold your breath.
These are great practices for those of you who have a regulated nervous system, because short stressors, boost our health and immunity. This is why cold plunges have become so popular.
BUT AND THIS IS A HUGE BUT, IF you are chronically stressed, tired ,anxious which I'm guessing you are because you're hanging around my world; then added stress is not what you need. So, no cold plunges, hiit workouts, hyperventilating breathwork.
This will leave you feeling up in your head, restless, anxious and fatigued.
What you body and soul crave for is FEELING SAFE and NURTURED. This is when your muscles can relax ( there's no danger anymore) your breath will become long and deep and your mind won't be thinking of all the things that can go wrong.
This is where simple breathwork comes in. In this particular series you are going to inhale through the nose and exhale with a sigh of relief.
1. When you inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth you help pump your diaphragm, release the tension in this muscle so it loosens its hold on your ribs. Now you can breathe deeper, fuller, completely into your belly.
This should be how you breathe all the time. 90% of my clients (and most people in general) have blocked diaphragms. In other words that muscle around your ribs is so tight, holding on for dear life that you can only breathe into your chest, not your belly.
But breath is life, and if you're only taking in 50% of the breath you need, but you're walking around living your life 100% of the time, do you see how you'll quick it run out of steam? This looks like, headaches, tiredness, foggy brain, and ANXIETY.
If this feels like you, then give this breathwork a try.
And please remember, that energy work, somatic movement is BEST FOR PREVENTION! Don't wait till you're already burnt out to try and improve your health. I suggest you do a 1minute practice every day, to keep your nervous system and hormones regulated.
Your daily routine could look like this: do this 1minute breathwork upon waking up.
Then, spend another minute breathing 2-3 times during your workday. Then one last series before you go to bed.
This is how you will create a SHIFT in your mental, physical and emotional health.
By stopping the stress, thoughts, anxiety in it's tracks, 3-4 times a day.
