Feeling overwhelmed? Small?

Dance with me!

What if...you could change your mindset, your outlook on life, your feelings at the moment with 2 simple movements?

Go on...try 'dancing' with me!

The Taoists believe that where there is flow there is NO PAIN, no physical pain, no emotional pain, no mental pain.

So what do you say; shall we dance?

A foundational principle of the Taoist and traditional Chinese Medicine is that pain, discomfort and disease are caused by unprocessed, stuck emotions.

So if you're feeling overwhelmed-MOVE; if you're feeling sad-MOVE; if you're feeling angry-MOVE!

See where I'm heading with this?

You see when we move, tap, shake, wiggle our body at the precise moment we feel the heaviness, then we help process, move the emotion/feeling out of our core. Otherwise, it takes root, and grows stronger each day.

And we don't want that, right?

In this short clip, I'm showing you 2 movements.

The first one is an energetic/somatic movement : butterfly wings, just like a butterfly spreads its wings, so too will you.

This little dance helps us expand our aura, and our heart so that we do not feel small. It  strengthens our boundaries, so that we are not easily affected by what others have to say. Strengthens our character and willpower, helping us stand true to our convictions.

Yes, all of that by simply opening up and inviting the world in.

The second part of this dance is creating figure 8's with our arms. Helping open up our heart to receive love and joy while weaving an even stronger protective shield around our physical and emotional body.

Now, you might find this way of thinking a bit woohoo, and not something your logical mind can understand.

Please don't let this discourage you from trying out this little dance with me. You don't need to understand, I'm trying to help you do just the opposite. Stop being up in your head and start feeling connected to both your body and soul.

Nevertheless, the teacher in me would like for every one of you reading this post to see the connection between the movement and our feelings and mindset. So, I'll try again, giving  you another example.

When our shoulders are slumped, and our neck cranes forward we are literally caving in on our chest, on our heart.

We look down not up, we feel heavy because our slumped shoulders don't allow us to take full, healing belly breaths.

So, we begin to feel isolated, sad, and later on depression sets in.

So, by flowing our arms up and out in the butterfly movement, we are inadvertently opening up our chest, standing up straight, shoulders back, head held up high. We breathe easily, fully into our tummy and before you know it things start to look up, we FEEL lighter and happier.

And now that I've hopefully set your doubts to rest, come join me in this dance.

Put on your favourite tune to get in the mood.

Slap on a big smile and lead from your heart, with every stroke of your arm you are releasing all that burdens you, feeling lighter, feeling joyful, feeling connected, loved and secure. Allowing love and gratitude to flood every cell in your body!

Can you feel it?

One last thing before I go, remember that energy work is cumulative, so the more you do this little energy dance, the more stuck feelings and  thoughts you'll process , and the better you'll feel.

Here's a thought, try doing this dance every day for the next 7 days. You can do it as a morning wake up routine and you can use it as an evening bedtime routine.

For greater effect, stop and dance whenever you feel frustrated, angry, sad....etc.
